Made it through today...

i made it through today without drinking and honestly I felt worse today than I have in a long time, emotionally. If you've seen my posts, I'm in my first week without alcohol and it seemed like I was losing my mind today. I've been dealing with horrible and extreme mood swings of every type you can think of, and I haven't been very pleasant to be around, to put it nicely! I'm eating enough for about 3 people now, and I'm eating sugary food a lot more than I used to. I feel like today was 1 week in itself haha! It's been a very long day... I'm going to have some hot cocoa now!

I know what you are saying, I have felt that way myself...but I am glad you posted and I hope tomorrow is a better day for you.

be good to yourself, and don't worry about the food for a little while

Ur doing great Hun xx. Im also eating sugary food it's just part of coming of drink o think. Alcohol has a lot of sugar in it so we are just keeping our sugar levels up. It will take awhile to reduce the levels.

Good luck and keep going xx

hang in there jmbrandon - I know I ate a lot of crap in the early going. I discovered chocolate. You'll get through it. Do what you can to avoid drinking. Then work on fixing you diet later.

Congrats on making it through jmbrandon. Yes, the first week I ate as much as the previous month. Whatever it takes- netflix, housework, walking, meetings, long phone calls, longer hot showers, arcade games on SR, gym, volunteer work. I went overboard with the caffeine in the beginning but scaled way back.

Most of us alcoholics don't eat much or properly when drinking. Your body is now catching up. Also, alcohol has a lot of sugar in it so when we quit, we crave sugar. For me, eating a lot and indulging in sugar lasted for the first couple ow weeks and then leveled out without me even trying.

For now, concentrate on not drinking, let yourself eat and be kind o yourself.
