Alcoholics by nature are indeed lonely. I like the container theory in the article. Not sure about inviting coworkers to happy hour or being through a life crisis at ground zero with people to make friendships however.

I find this one of foundational reasons I attend AA daily. The repetitious nature and structure leads to making new friends for sure. And it has the benefit of never ending

I found it hard to make friends before I started down the path to drinking. I used alcohol as a social lubricant. This will help me now. Thanks!
