Hello all! I know it's not very significant to many of you but today is Day 3 for me. I have been struggling for quite a while with a lot of Day 1's. I couldn't figure it out. Cravings etc. What I will say is that the threads on "famous/popular A/V pickup lines" has given me a new perspective (tool) to deal. I really like the idea of AVRT. It's gotten me through the last two days (I had some moments of weakness but realized it was by AV talking) but AVRT and realizing that my self-talk is my AV has helped. I've been a member of this forum since 2003.... yes I've been struggling a long time. However it is only now that I am becoming actively involved. Your stories and learning about the AV are helping me pull through. I know it's REALLY early on for me to be spouting this stuff but I'm pretty excited about it. I love the idea of not waking up feeling foggy, tired, and sick too! Good luck to all of you!

My AV was just saying to me "just one... just a little while and you go home. Not a big deal." What a sneaky thing.. just one. I've had a lot of "just one's" but it NEVER is just one. Not listening. Congrats to the other newbies. Don't listen to that nasty AV. Nothing good comes from listening to it.

I just have to realize when the thought comes to my mind "just for a little while" it's that crafty AV. It's my body saying.... c'mon.... give me a little alcohol.... the worst thing for me. I'll get through it. I don't even like the people at the local gin mill near me either. It smells, is dirty, and is full of miserable people. But somehow my AV tells me it's not that bad. It IS that bad. Alcohol is such a powerful thing. Glad I got this out. It silenced the AV for a few. See you guys tomorrow on Day 4!
