Tears of Hope
wow.
Sitting here with tears running down my cheeks.
Long, LONG story (isn't everyones?!), but in short, my husband is drinkng himself and our marriage to death.
On the outside, I have everything, but once he starts.......
I live in a small 3rd World city, with no services for alcoholics. None. I hope to find online support here.
ThankYou,
EW

Welcome ExPatWife,
I’m glad you found this website. Let me start by saying there’s a Friends and Family forum where you will receive great advice and unlimited support. That would be a great place to start reading and posting. You may also want to check into online Al-Anon support as well. My understanding is that Al-Anon is an outstanding resource for anyone in a relationship with an alcoholic.

Welcome to SR ExPatWife.
You'll find support in this forum too
Wherever you are in the world, there is always online help, if not actual face to face support.
Have you considered AlAnon for yourself?

There are very few "city's" worldwide that do not have AA meetings. Try this link to find a meeting. ----> Alcoholics Anonymous
I found one English speaking group. I don’t know if you live anywhere near it.
Moresby Saturday Morning Group
Galley Restaurant
Kowedobu
Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea
There was a person who posted here at SR at one time who was going back there (from Australia). I encouraged her to start a group. If you are interested send me a private message and I will dig up the information and you might be able contact them.

I know it's not always easy to get around in PNG
If you're interested the aussie site for alanon is here so you can get an idea about what it's about:
http://www.al-anon.org/australia/
and here's a list of electronic alanon meetings - email, phone and chat
http://www.al-anon.alateen.org/electronic-meetings
naturally there's similar things for alcoholics, but from your post, I'm not sure if you yourself have a problem or not?
