Going to bed sober tonight

So day 1 (again) is complete! I'm anticipating restlessness and insomnia. Can't say I've gone more than a night or two without drinking for yeeeaaarrrrsss. What did you folks do to combat insomnia in the initial detoxing?

That should read BED not bee. Darned small keyboard on phone.

Congratulations!

I like to get up if I can't sleep. Sometimes I putter, sometimes I read. For me, the restlessness lasted for about 2 weeks. Now, I'm sleeping like a dream:no waking up in the middle of the night with a pounding heart and head.

I went to a bare-bones, no-cost inpatient detox. I was prescribed something for anxiety and it helped me sleep.

Thank you I think I'll just have to punch through with it. I'm looking forward to the healthy benefit of deep rem sleep which we never achieve when drinking.

That's what I'm doing right now. Reading tires me out so I'm learning and winding down at the same time. Congrats on 5 days. That's awesome!

I didn't sleep much my first couple weeks. But it settled down and I started getting good sleep again. Stay sober and it will get better.

A bowl of Peanut Butter Captain Crunch, it is my last resort being it is probably one of the unhealthiest foods possible and eating in the middle of the night probabably isn't the best but it always works, I guess once the sugar Rush wears off your body crashes in a big way

Reading worked. Peanut butter captain crunch might give it a try. Haven't had that in years. Day 2 today. Feeling ok now. The cravings hit me at night. I never really was a daytime drinker. Hope everyone has a good day!
