drinking tonight, on day 11

Today was sober day 11 for me, and I am drinking tonight. I fought the urge last night, but I gave in tonight. I am drinking Captain Morgan and diet coke mixed drinks. My favorite. It feels nice now, but I will regret it. I know I messed up. I have to start over from day 1 now. It is not going to be worth it. 11 days is the longest I have gone sober in longer then I can even remember. But I messed it up tonight. One day I hope I stop for good.

Dump out what you have and get some water/rest. Tomorrow you can take a look at what you need to do differently. Hope is good, but it won't get or keep you sober - action will.

Dump it. Cut it off in mid flight.

what stopped you from coming here beforehand Its?

Don't wait till tomorrow to start your journey back into sobriety.... dump out the drink and have some water. Put the plug in the jug for good.

I'm really sorry for your situation. I hope it gets resolved soon. Active drinking is not a fun place to be, it's a miserable process of uselessly repeating behaviors that haven't worked for a long time. I've experienced it, and i hope you're over it very soon.

We only got so many Day 1's in us ItsJustMe89.

Was that what you're addiction was telling you before you picked up? It's okay...you can start again tomorrow?

We have to be HERE ...PRESENT...SOBER...in the NOW. Alcoholics need to stay the hell out of tomorrows.

Running away..not being present and available and accountable to yourself and your loved ones...it has to end.

Get sober. Get Present...today. Eff tommorrow.

I'm so sorry to hear this! Getting back up and getting sober is more difficult then staying sober on a Friday. Dump out what you have, and just keep repeating ....Nothing good comes from alcohol! I don't need alcohol to live.
"it feels nice right now, but I'll regret it"- that is your AV mocking you for winning the battle the night before, fight back and win tonight
Good luck. I'll be looking for your day #2 post tomorrow am :)

11 days is a lot to throw away for a bottle that doesn't care about you.

Lots of day 1s in my past, until I got sick to death of them.

keep going, we're all here for you. :grouphug:

I'm going to emember this Nudawn, well said , sometimes we think we've got unlimited chances to beat this but you are right there will be a point when our quota of day ones runs out!

Stop digging!

Morning ItsJustMe89

If you are like most of us (we've all slipped at least once) then you will hate yourself today. DONT !!

Think about what led up to last night. What were you doing that day? who had you been with? Where did you buy the drink? where did you drink? who with?

You can learn from these things and know what to avoid next time. This makes you stronger and means that this time round you are in a better place than you were eleven days ago. Eleven days is a huge achievement which I'm sure you can repeat and beat.

You can do this
:-)
