Hopefully it is not too late!
Thank you to all on SR. I found that site a week ago and it convinced me that being sober was the only way to go before I lose all I have. I am now 2 days sober going through the AWS is difficult. Before my wife and son left for a short vacation, I came clean to them. Not sure if my couple will survive this but there is no other way.

Welcome! I am on day 3. I know you are struggling, but try to think positively. Reach down as far as you can and pull out your hope and put it in front of everything else. You can do this. You will do this.

Great job for being at day 2! You won today. I always feel like there is no hope just starting to try and be sober. The longer you go the clearer your mind will become and you will be more happy for sure! You can do it!!

Now on day 3 and starting to feel better. Thinking of going to an AA meting tonight but I am quite intimidated and not sure if I want to put myself out there yet. Any thoughts about what I should expect.....
Congrats on Day 3, Expos. Welcome to SR.
My experience is that life can and does get better, sober. Stick with it, Expos.
(I have no AA experience but have a couple of friends who swear by it; let us know how it goes).

I know exactly what your going through Expos. There are tons of meetings around Toronto morning, day, and night. I was still a wreck on day 3 of withdrawal and wouldn't even be able to sleep until day 4 or 5. The insomnia and anxiety was always the worst part for me.
There is a light at the end of tunnel! Keep going! Post here often as we are all in this together.

Yes, it does get better the longer you're sober. As for your first meeting, go with an open mind and look for the similarities, not the differences. If they give you phone numbers, call someone if you are tempted to drink.
Welcome Expose. I was very close to losing everything not very long ago. I could not go 1 week without a binge. This had gone on for some time. I will be 1 month sober tomorrow, and I have managed to sort most things out. it does take time, but worth the effort, and the chance of a great new start.
Well done on 2 days.
