The Price of Alcohol

Friday night we met up with a group of my friends. We stopped by the grocery store for a few items on our way, and my girlfriend wanted something to drink. At this point, it doesn't bother me, because she doesn't drink the right stuff nor does she drink it in the right way. Anyway, as she's trying to figure out what foo-foo drinks she wants, I'm looking around and looking at the price of the crap... Even my cheap beer isn't cheap! Holy crap... How the heck did I ever afford to drink?

EDIT: I actually know how I afforded it... Skipping rent, skipping payments, loans, credit cards, mooching, etc.

Exactly... Looking back, it's insane how much unnecessary money I wasted, priorities I ignored, and relationships i sabotaged to get my hands on overpriced liquor that just wasn't worth it [cost-wise or otherwise.] Makes no sense at all. Thank goodness that's all in the past!

Exactly. And I always wondered why I needed to borrow money at the end of each pay period. Crazy, isn't it? Best not to dwell on it though. I could have paid my house off by now.

I hear ya. Just today I was thinking bout all the money I've wasted on both booze and cigarettes over the years. My economic apathy showed up in more areas than just my addictions though.

I am so glad that I am now on a path of building worth rather than tearing it down ..day after day ..after day.

It is shocking -as I posted in another thread the other day, I 've probably spent around £50,000 over the years on booze.
