Hurting

Depression is crushing me right now, having a hard time making it through work. I don't know what to do I'm in a lot of pain. I need to get to my doctor

Do whatever you need to do, MyTime86. Emotions can be kind of a roller coaster, and I guess we all know that self-medicating for myriad of mental/psychological issues is the norm for lots of us. As you get sober, things pop up- and there is plenty of help out there- pharmaceutical and otherwise. Best to you.

I'm sorry you're depressed MyTime.
How soon can you get an appointment?

Is the ER an option?

Stick with us

ER isn't necessary I can ride it out just painful.

I'm sure I can get an appointment for Monday, maybe get back on some antidepressant I never stuck with them before because of the drinking

really thankful for your responses make me feel less alone

I am sorry that you are hurting, MyTime. 60 hours is a long time to experience crushing depression; are you sure the ER isn't an option?

MT, you are smart not to try mixing brain cootie meds and alcohol. A stated, this is an extremely common issue for many of us. Last time around I got really severe and frightening coarse tremors from that combo, that's common. You're definitely not alone.

Be honest with your doctor about your alcohol use, OK?

MyTime, check in often and stay close. I've had days when I was pretty much on SR all the time. Don't drink, don't use, stay close to SR and close to a phone. Do you have anyone local you can be with over the weekend? Do you go to meetings?

Depression is horrible, but you can get through it. That's great that you still have the ability to respond to funny things, use that to your advantage. Watch a funny movie or YouTube videos (I'm guilty of watching a whole lot of funny cat videos when I'm depressed. Hey, it's silly but it works). Try to distract yourself so you're not just living in your head.
