Anxiety while while drunking and while soner

I ran across an old rating scale I did to Assess my anxiety and depression symptoms and took it again today, 5 mo sober. Wow! Depression was zero in a scale of 15 and had been a 5 which was mild. Anxiety was in the moderate to high area and now was none! I thought I had mental health issues for many years and thought I would suffer forever even though I went to therapy, exercised, and took meds! Now I do all those things but don't drink and boom! Virtually no signs. I never would have thought it!

Congrats on five months sober! My depression and anxiety are a lot better since I got sober too.

Hey Hereandnow2, nice job with the five months!

I began having anxiety issues a while back, especially some panic attacks while driving on the freeways. This came on fairly sudden and was really out of the norm for me. I just figured that was just the 'new' me. I did have some Rx for the problem, but those, too, became even more of a problem.

About 6-9 months or so after I stopped drinking, they pretty much went away. I would have never thought they were alcohol related. It's actually really a great feeling, as I was feeling sort of confined not being able to hit the highway like a normal person.
