Day 5 - so clumsy!

You'd think I was drunk! Walking into things, tripping over my own feet - I'm covered in bruises! I've always been clumsy but now I'm sober it's worse! Or maybe I've just got no excuse for it now ha ha!

Been following your posts Mavis...a big congratulations on day 5!!

This one made me laugh because I did the same thing... Then I would stop and say "wth? I'm not even drunk!" It gets better... hang in there and be careful!

I hear you... I'm experiencing a few balance problems at day 2 but have managed not to hurt myself (touch wood). I do have a few good bruises flowering from my recent few weeks of drinking though!

Yes! This is me a hundred times over, Mavis! Lol
I've been dropping things, bumping into stuff, and tripping all over the place and thinking WHAT is WRONG with me today?! I've even got the bruises to prove it! Hahaha.
We can either laugh or cry through it, right? Thanks for helping me choose to laugh. Luv ya, girl. We'll be cartwheeling down balance beams before you know it.

I did that when I ct'd the benzos. Tripping over myself, dropping just about anything. I was a mess. It will pass, though.

Awesome, Mavis!!! 5 days, way to go! But be careful out there, lol. I had a friend who used to trip over nothing all the time, and he would say "have that removed," ha!

Thanks everyone!
I seem to be unable to judge distances too... hence even more bumps since I posted.
Think I need to go to bed might be safer there!
Good to know it's all normal in recovery and not just me
Conquest you made me laugh too

Mavis, I have thought about this a lot--clumsiness as well as memory loss. I believe that we are just challenging ourselves more, without even realizing it. The things we used to do when we drink were pretty simple--sometimes just raising glass to mouth endlessly. But now we are engaging in interesting, and sometimes difficult, activities; and need to expect a few slip-ups as our mental abilities recover.
