I guess I tend to obsess over "labels" a little too much. I'm realizing that I don't need to call myself anything, I can simply make the decision to not drink and do what makes me happy. The problem is that I'm not even sure what makes me happy. Sometimes I think maybe I can still be happy and drink..... I guess that's just the addiction talking though.

Glad you're here!

Labeling hasn't been too important to me in early sobriety (day 24). I'm struggling with the alcoholic label vs. my spiritual beliefs, in all honesty. But everyone's needs are different. Focusing on what I want my future to look like has been very motivating for me.

Stick around SR. I've learned a lot about alcoholism and a lot more about myself by doing so. Best wishes!

Edited to add... I just saw your latest post. Sobriety has helped me to rediscover what makes me happy, little by little. I hope it does for you too. Again, stay close.
