Out of ideas

Hi everyone. I don't want to be here. I never thought I would be here. If you told me 10 years ago that I'd be here I'd laugh.

But I'm out of ideas and starting to worry. I've been drinking pretty heavy for about 5 years now. It all started innocent enough but this past year it's been getting out of hand and I feel it's even starting to effect my health.

I'm not sure I'll be able to do this on my own so I thought I'd come here at least as a start.

:welcome to SR :)

Welcome Waterox. Most of us never thought we would be here, or in an AA meeting, or in Rehab/Detox. But fortunately you have come seeking help, many never do. SR is filled with those who understand, and there is a wealth of information on the many ways to get sober, as well as a lot of support.

None of us ever planned on being here, Ox.

You don't have to do it on your own. We're all in this together. Jump in the boat, grab an oar, and row!

None of us wanted to be here, so you are not alone in those feelings.

But, what we find here is people who understand what we are going through and how hard this is.

I'm glad you posted.

Welcome! None of us planned on being here. It's the demon of alcohol. It wants to kill , steal, and destroy. Welcome to change ! Check in everyday and hold yourself accountable.

I can do all things through he who strengthens me

Welcome Waterox. At any given time see just how many visitors there are, tons, lots of people just like you except you have made the leap of faith and posted. Here you will find folks from all walks of life who want to be your cheering section.

Welcome

Being a hopeless alcoholic was not on the bucket list of life goals but here we are.

Lots of support and advice

Hi waterox, you may not want to be here, but it is a huge step for you that you realize you need to be here. Take a while to look around SR and read. Stick around here a lot this weekend for support and post too. You'll discover soon enough what a powerful tool this can be for you.....and soon enough you will want to be here! I'm rooting for you.

Wow. I have never seen so many quick replies. This is obviously a very active forum with many nice members. Thank you all very much for the wam welcome.

I don't know what's going to happen from here but I already feel a little better.

None of us wanted to be here, but when we realized we had to be, we found it's a great place for us.

Welcome to the Forum Waterox!!

I never thought I'd join this site in my lifetime either, at one stage in my life I never drank at all, but that changed and as you say doing it with others is easier than on our own.

You'll find loads of support!! :)

Hey gang, waterox may benefit from reDing some of the success stories of those that achieved long term sobriety....I'm only a month in so don't qualify yet. Where on the site have I seen those posts?

Welcome, waterox. I never thought that I would wind-up on a recovery site either, waterox, but I am very grateful that I found SR.

You don't have to go it alone; SR is open 24/7, 365; there is always someone here who wants to see you beat alcoholism and be happy.

Lusher 11-01-2014 12:04 PM

Hey Waterox- Welcome! You've found a great place for support.

I, too, would have laughed had somebody told me that I'd be spending time in a sobriety forum ten years ago, yet here I is. It just sort of creeped up on me, and before I knew it, I was in pretty heavy for a while.

Hope to see you around!

Forums are great places to work through stuff, and this one is the kindest and gentlest of groups.

Welcome to the world's largest club that no one wanted to join.
