welcome to SR, sounds like a pretty bad case of the DT's, have you spoken to your doctor?

Welcome. You might consider seeing a doctor if things have gotten that bad.

Welcome, MegaSpratt, to SR. I echo the others that a trip to the ER or your doctor to manage your detox would be very wise

Is this forum run by docs? I'm already in a load of debt from an er visit, more than I can make in a year, I need something else. Weaning isnt working, I'm almost a week into that and can't stop shaking, sweating, not sleeping, anxiety, crying etc. Is there anything else I can do to ease this pain?

Please go to the ER. You can set up a payment plan. Too risky alone. Please keep coming here for support as well.

I'm not in the medical field, Mega; just don't want to see you get into trouble. Is anyone with you?

Welcome to the Forum!!

We can't prescribe something over the internet, if your body is in a bad way then a trained medical professional is a safe option!!

I went to doc before and I ended up having to detox from the xanax he prescribed. I don't want drugs, I need real help.

A week in? Should subside by now or soon, mate. you aren't weaning though, are you? Because if THAT is the case, you're just prolonging things.

NM- I now read that you ARE weaning. That's why you're still having the problems you're having a week out.

If you can't do a Dr due to money, than I would try to find an AA meeting, and see if someone there can help. At the very least, you need a person, a blood pressure cuff, and likely a prescription of Valium. I'm no Dr., but that 'might' at least help.

I can make it a few hours then I start throwing up. I am down to one drink (one beer or one shot) every 2-3 hours but if I fall asleep too long or forget to drink I start full body convulsions and they hurt so much.

Oh, sweetheart, don't continue to put yourself through this misery. Please go to the ER; make a payment plan; what you are doing is not working. Is someone with you?

If you need support. Support is what you will get. Nobody is beating up on you, you have just described symptoms that sound unbearable and unnecessary. Be kind to yourself. You are detoxing and thank god for that. Good job on even deciding to cut down. Mentally you need advice and comfort. You are on the right road and you are doing what is right. Physically, your body is fighting you because it's dependent on the substance. It is definitely possible to release yourself from it's grip and you're on your way.... But you're enduring something that is putting your body through more stress than necessary. M

Never mind the bills, get medical help now! And if you're still drinking, that's not helping you.
