It's a good thing I took the time to take down all the decorations. It has been raining good all morning here. Had breakfast after meeting with guy who was leaving area.
I sent wife a text saying I would do laundry this morning when I get home. Is there anything she needs washed? Answer: Everything
soooooooo...
do clocks add or subtract an hour tonight? I agree it's silly.

Cool rainy day.

Roast chicken. pull apart and add to a nice tomato based stew with mushrooms, celery, taters, onions and spices. Oh and the best ingredient? Netflix.

I dont know... a bit lack luster today. No cravings but just meyah. Maybe pull the shades and put the fireplace on will help. Yeah that's the ticket!

LB... fall back spring forward.

Chilly Saturday morning here. I slept in a bit...ahhhh. And now at a coffee shop with a cup of tea and unfortunately about 4-5 hours of work ahead of me. But just going to power through it, and then looking forward to a nice takeaway dinner to treat myself.

It was tough for a minute last night as I live in a pretty happening neighborhood and could hear all the Halloween revelers out last night, but only tough in that I felt a bit lonely. I certainly didn't want to drink.

Also this morning just told my ex-bf who now lives overseas that we should cut-off contact for a while. I love him, I really do. But the time difference and the fact that there is no promise of anything to come in the future just weighs me down too much. I feel sad that he will wake up to the email, but it is what it is.

I do have a nice picture of the city we met in that I had been meaning to send to him, along with some cookies I baked last night...so I'm still planning on sending those.

Hang tough weekenders!

Still don't feel like doing much of anything. Watching television. Not so interested in my brand new cooking magazine. I must be sick.

Ruby, I love the pic of your kitty! Watching TV is basically the only thing on my agenda for the rest of the weekend, after I get through this work I have to finish.

I've had a pretty good Saturday so far! I slept in until 8 (that never happened when I was drinking, I was always up super early). Then, I took my son to soccer, had a nice relaxing bath, and made a big, awesome salad for lunch. My other son and husband are now home from baseball, which means my husband will keep nagging me, "what can we do, what can we do, what can we do?" If he leaves the house to run errands later, I will try to squeeze in a quick nap. It's cold and cloudy here, and my flannel sheets are calling me!

The clock springs forward, the clock falls back.

Darkness falls neither sooner nor later, we just change our relationship to the cycle.

Ooooooooommmmmmm

The talk about food on this thread makes me hungry. In cool weather I like roasted tomato soup (Tyler Florence has a good recipe) and a nice crisp panini. I'm not much of a cook, but using an immersion blender always makes me think I should have my own tv show....plus my wife thinks it's cute to see me in the kitchen . Wink wink.

Sleep is one of the most amazing things about not drinking. It's ridiculous really how much my sleep improves, especially the first few weeks.

BTW, here's a good habit you should develop now that we're working on good habits.

When the time changes, test your smoke detectors. Once a year, change the batteries.

November

(Alternate Title: No!)

A Poem by Thomas Hood (1799-1845)

No sun--no moon!
No morn--no noon!
No dawn--no dusk--no proper time of day--
No sky--no earthly view--
No distance looking blue--
No road--no street--no "t'other side this way"--
No end to any Row--
No indications where the Crescents go--
No top to any steeple--
No recognitions of familiar people--
No courtesies for showing 'em--
No knowing 'em!
No traveling at all--no locomotion--
No inkling of the way--no notion--
"No go" by land or ocean--
No mail--no post--
No news from any foreign coast--
No Park, no Ring, no afternoon gentility--
No company--no nobility--
No warmth, no cheerfulness, no healthful ease,
No comfortable feel in any member--
No shade, no shine, no butterflies, no bees,
No fruits, no flowers, no leaves, no birds--
November! -

Tetra, seriously?

I knew what happened on the clock change. It meant that if I want to get there before the deer decide to punch out from nite shift I gotta leave an hour earlier in the morn. Up at 4:30 instead of 5:30. Was hoping they changed it this year.
A blah day. Cold and rainy. Still might go out for evening hunt - but it's nice and cozy inside I don't mind cold and I don't mind wet. It's cold and wet I want no part of. I'll take a foot of snow over a cold rain any day.

But, Tetra! November is my birthday month! Time to set off fireworks! I choose to overlook the utter dreariness of the season.

A Poem a day keeps the melancholy away

I'm reading and listening to the rain outside with a pot of tea.

I'm enjoying trying out these new teas.

Hope you all stay well, stay warm, stay safe x

Hey Weekenders!! Hope everyone is doing well!!

I'm settling in on my Saturday evening, another quiet one with no plans, I was working this morning and then spent the afternoon in the kitchen, another Indian inspired creation for this evening, I have a chicken Jalfrezi bubbling away as we speak!!

This time next week though I'll be in London for an NFL game at Wembley, so chilling out this weekend is the plan!!

Enjoy your Saturday everyone and welcome to all newcomers to the thread!!
