That I finally understand that it doesn't matter that I relapsed...it was a gift from God.
I needed this.
I needed to remember how precious this gift of sobriety is.
I needed to be reminded to do WHATEVER IT TAKES in order to be happy, healthy and free. ♥♥

Not skipping pages in my kid' bedtime stories.
I've done some unforgivable things drunk. .......

Realizing that I CAN cope with life and all that it throws at me without a glass in hand.
Not needing that crutch is incredibly empowering.

Realising that I've started listening to people properly, and looking them in the eye in a conversation.

Sitting on the bus now, on the way to work, and not praying I wasn't.

Low level dread replaced with ever-increasing levels of happiness.

Waking up in the middle of the night and not in the throes of withdrawal.

Waking up naturally, no headache or fuzzy brain, no shame or regrets for what I may have said or done. Facing the day with a sense of peace.

Waking up sore from working out instead of throwing up in a plastic bag.

Knowing I won't have to drink all afternoon to manage the crash from drinking all morning.

Waking up clear minded, taking a nap ( as opposed to passing out) a clean/ organized house, went to the movies with my son and having a nice meal tonight. These are little things but were impossible when I was drunk

Today my favorite thing about being sober is...

Feeling connected to the world, without having to drink to feel like that.

I stopped procastinating, putting things off till tomorrow because I want to get my first drink of the day in first. And so I got a LOT done today.

I drove my daughter back to school last night at 11:00 p.m.
I've never been able to do this because of drinking.
Grateful and happy to be doing "normal" Mom things.
