Day 12 and I need somebody to explain why I should not drink

Day 12, travelling, have to go out with customers tonight who want to party. This is bad news, but it is part of the job. Please guys and girls, remind me why I should not start drinking ......

Well, reread the posts that brought you here to SR. Play the tape forward and ask yourself what is most likely to happen if you do drink.

You shouldn't drink with the customers tonight because you want to keep the job and your health and your life. Watching your customers slide into the alcohol fueled thinking will be pretty enlightening. You'll see their demeanor's change, their complexions change, things said and done that shouldn't, and you KNOW they are gonna feel like cr@p in the morning. WHY would you ever want that?

^^^^^ What Altoids said.

You can do this, Muffin, and wake up on Day 13 with pride and hangover free.

You shouldn't drink because drinking brings you to a bad place that you don't want to go to.

Stay strong and feel good tomorrow morning.

because you are on this forum, so you know you have a problem with alcohol, which means you drink too much and probably act like an A-hole when drunk. You wake up feeling disgusted and ashamed of your previous night's behavior and you know deep down you are better off without alcohol, but it is just too hard to be different. So, how was that??

I don't know about you, but when I think of the condition mentally and physically I was in only 12 days ago.......
It's a very dark place I don't want to go back to.

You remind us. Something brought you to SR. What was that? And I bet it hasn't changed just because you have a business meeting.

Stay firm in your resolve and don't be swayed by co-workers who want to party.

Muffin, answer your question yourself tomorrow, don't attempt to answer it tonight. Tomorrow, say to yourself, Did I make the right decision by not drinking last night? I know what the answer will be.

Stick to your plan of not drinking ever. It's a good one.
