thank you for being there

I love all of your comments on my posts. You all give me so much hope and inspiration. I am so sorry that I cannot get things right. One day I so hope that I will be the person giving hope to the newcomer who is lost and alone. As you are doing for me. Thank you SR members, for being there for the still suffering alcoholics. Your experience, strength, and hope is more appreciated then you could imagine.

You will be Its JustMe :)

I used to think I needed something else too - some missing element I didn't have that everyone else did...

but in reality all I needed was the sincere desire for my drinking like to be over.

Have that desire, back it up with action, use us for support and you're home and hosed my friend :)

"Have the Desire" back it up with "Action" :) Great Advice!

If you're talking that talk, make sure you're walking that walk. Actions speak louder then words.

Have a great weekend. Stay positive :)

I drank my way through all the bad stuff, police lock ups, smashed cars, hospitalisations ....... Most of the things that will make people quit alcohol for good, had all happened to me before I turned 18. There were to be another 17 years of those things before I quit for the first time.

All the crappy stuff was just "unpleasant side effects" of drinking.

By the 3 month mark, the person most surprised about me quitting drinking ..... is ME.

I have no doubt you can surprise yourself too one day.

SR is a fantastic place for support!! :grouphug:

I lurked on SR while still using for quite a while. When I finally decided to stop, forever, SR was foremost in my mind.

I'm going on 8 years clean thanks, in large part, to the people here.

You will be one of those who shares your ES&H to newcomers, just hold that thought in your head. I never thought I would be one of them, but I am and if it could happen to me, it could happen to anyone.

Hugs and prayers,

Amy
