My higher power is myself.

Maybe something else is helping me, maybe not.

I don't know why or how this wonderful world came to be, but it's my motivation for sticking around.

Absolutely GOD! I felt his presence one time in my life exactly 10 years ago this coming November. Long story but I know he exists. He spoke to me. Again...long story. (And yes..I was sober...haha) At least he exists in MY life. The God I love especially loves and watches over alcoholics and addicts. He loves us all and wants us all to heal!

a SMILE came to my face as I read this.

My brother is a very strong Catholic, and "Lord Behold", he married an Athiest.

They have been married for over 20 years. She is the Best Sister-in-Lay I could ever ask for.

We are all have different beliefs , opinions, values.

I have my beliefs, Yet I will not impose mine on you.

I accept you, I HOPE you accept me!

you have a pretty strong perspective on being in AA and not being religious DP - why not share that, instead of going for sarcasm and the cheap laugh?

i have come to the conclusion dee that if i treat this subject of god with a bit of fun it takes all the sting out it for me

i was thinking about starting up a chair leg appreciation society or maybe starting up a chair leg convention : )
its just a bit of fun dee i do joke about this sort of thing in meetings and it does get us all laughing at ourselves or thats the idea behind it : )

I suppose my HP is somewhat similar to Jennie's...
It is something I refer to as a divine spirit that lives within me...my highest self...a God within...perhaps the same God that some say is "everywhere"...

I believe in something Divine...I just have no idea what that is..other than an energy perhaps.

Metta. In Buddhism, Metta is loving kindness for all beings. Metta and the practice of developing it is my higher power. Some say "God is love". I'm not theist but there you go.

Another manifestation of my higher power is whatever gave words to Bob Dylan and Arthur Rimbaud, to name two and whatever John Coltrane was playing too in A Love Supreme.
