Yay for 21 days sober tomorrow!
I'm happy about that, of course, but there's something else I noticed that I'm really enthused about.
My complexion is clear and healthy. And my eyes....they're clear and bright again. I didn't realize how tired and sick I looked prior to quitting. There are photos of me that I don't even recognize. It's appalling, really.
I always knew that alcohol had significant effects on a person's appearance, but goodness, I am seeing it first hand.

I'm at 21 today, please come join the club!
I've lost about 2kg. I'm not trying to lose weight, but the extra definition def doesn't hurt. I need to eat more quality food to replace those empty, worthless calories that came from drinking! The physical changes do seem to kick in pretty quickly.

CONGRATS!!!!!
I fully agree with what you said by the way. I have 41 days and when I look at my pictures from July it's like a different person. I looked so unhealthy, my jaw was tight, my posture was anxious, my skin was dull...and my eyes were dead. I remember looking and not seeing. Now I look in the mirror and I see my skin is clear and shiny...and I look healthy and alive. It's really an amazing change in such a short time!! Probably also because I had no appetite beforee, wouldn't eat much and was malnourished . Anyway, congratulations again!!!!

Congrats on 3 weeks. People would ask me what I had done to myself. They told me I looked better and soon I had lost weight, about 20 lbs now.
The struggle and journey that is sobriety is worth it!

Congrats back to all of you for your progress.
It's wonderful when the positive changes on the inside are reflected on the outside.
Not as a matter of vanity, but rather as a visual manifestation of regaining one's health.
