I finally told my husband

That the "support group" I've been going to is actually a recovery meeting, and that I've been drinking again. He didn't say anything, but he didn't seem surprised. Almost like he had been waiting for me to tell him. I said I want to go to these meetings to try to be a better person. He said okay and he will adjust his schedule so I can attend more meetings. And that was it. Done in less than a minute. I'm grateful he is a man of few words. I am so relieved, I feel like my life has opened up a bit. One less secret to carry around like a stone.

That must have been hard to do, Briar. It must be a relief and good to know the next step is forward. You'll make it

Harboring secrets is very heavy, I am glad you were able to get that out.

Briar, I was inspired by you and Mavis to have a talk with my wife. It's odd to me that I was so uncomfortable with the thought of that conversation. Like you, my conversation was brief. Thanks for the inspiration and I hope your Sunday afternoon is peaceful. BTW, we love to visit CA, have never been north of Yosemite and Napa. We especially enjoy Carmel and Big Sur area. So many beautiful destinations there. Maybe Lake Tahoe next.

Well done briar. Having secrets really eats you up. Being free from them really allows you to run with your recovery.

Wishing you all the best.

Briar, I'm glad you confided in your husband and that he is open to helping you get to the meetings.
