This time last year.....

So it's my birthday this weekend (first sober birthday since at least 15) and I was thinking about my birthday this time last year - it all started off so well......Out with my friends in town, after spending a good few hours at the hairdressers, getting a lovely new dress I left home feeling good and looking forward to the night ahead. I started off with a wine (it's my birthday after all!) then a second, then a third and so on. Woke up the next day, in my lovely new dress with zero memory of the night before....(I got filled in having to be carried out the pub and friends having to take me home) happy birthday eh!!?

This year will be so different. Day 114, and I'm nearly 3 months pregnant. I've realised I've been waiting to have this kind of life all my life.

I'm happy, I don't worry like I did and I'm present every single day. Not just for me but for everyone else too. I'm excited for my future for the first time ever.

Being sober is my birthday present to me

Thank you guys! Means an awful lot.

Birthday was great! Dinner in my favourite Scottish restaurant (managed to keep the morning sickness at bay to enjoy it too) and spent the day with my family. Next weekend having a psychic night with friends, food and mocktails....!

Being sober means I get to enjoy 2 birthday nights and not zero. Yay!!
