is this my life
I never thought this is how my marriage would turn out. I can't even grasp the thought. I have been with my husband 12 years the last 4 dealing with his addiction. First pills then heroine...now who knows. He says he has been clean a while but never shares details. He has been clean multiple times before and always relapses. He can quit his problem is he can't stay sober. I have tried everything threats...promises...altimatums...dealing ...giving in...nothing works eventually I find out he is lying and we are back in the same spot again. I don't know if I can keep doing this vicious circle. He is a high functioning addict you would never know from the outside but it affects everything. I don't trust him...don't want to be intamite with him...dont consider my best friend anymore but I do love him...so confused as to what to do.any ideas ...comments...suggestion I am open because I just don't know. anymore
Welcome to the Forum!!
I'm sorry to hear your story, the main thing in all of this is to get support for you, your husband may change, hopefully he will, but he may not, and so looking out for you should be the priority!!
You'll find loads of support and advice here on SR, we also have a friends and family section which may be worth a read also!!
