3rd step (AA)

Evening everyone. Just met my sponsor tonight to work on getting past step three of AA. We talked over coffee and I've now got my own personal 3rd step prayer that I will tell/recite to myself daily.

I'm going to continue on with working the steps. 4th step work begins next. I've never attempted one so it's a little intimidating I'm not going to lie.

But I've made it through today. I'm 11 days sober as of now.

Ready to turn in on rest. Time to reflect on today.

Thanks for being here and for being part of my recovery my SR friends.

11 days is awesome! Keep working with your sponsor on those steps--don't let #4 scare you!

It would be only human to be a little intimidated by a 4th step.

I thought of JFK's words "the only thing we have to fear is fear itself " when mustering the courage to do mine.

That man and his wise words were the truest thing I have experienced in relation to a 4th step.

It reminds me of teaching my kids to ride a bike with no training wheels.

They are at first, packing their little pants, but then they eventually zoom off down the road without me holding on to the saddle. They don't even know I've let go and then they turn around and look back to see me standing 50 yards away.

And then the smiles come. Big ones

I don't know anything about AA or the steps but congratulations on 11 days that's fantastic!

Good job getting that far. I've started countless fourth steps and didn't finish. I kept getting stuck at three. I've heard and believe that three get easier if you get four, five and six done.

Hi. I was taught by the hard liners years ago that if having difficulty with any step, go back to the previous one and concentrate on that one for awhile.

My working on the steps has been an eye opener each time and early on recognized Iím doing it for my long range mental health.

BE WELL

Actually, that quote is from FDR, not JFK. Still, the rest of your post was spot on.

I stand corrected, thanks

Too late for an edit.
