Hello Lynns42, I heard somewhere physical withdrawals only last 10-15 minutes. Stay strong. Things get better. Great job on 5 days. Focus on making it 6.

Yay! Keep posting. It DOES get better. There are literally hundreds of us on here who can attest to that.

And you never have to go back. When you are going through hell, keep going. The other side is so much better.

Hi and congratulations with your 5 day accomplishment, it does get easier each additional day, often we feel not fast enough.
At your point in sobriety I was introduced to the fact that made so much sense to me.
“If we don’t pick up the first drink we don’t have to try to get sober AGAIN.”

This is a period that was a great REMEMBER WHEN if I had the thought it wasn’t that bad.

BE WELL

5 days is pretty major - you should be feeling pretty proud of yourself today, even if you still feel lousy physically. Grab hold of that positive feeling and build on it.

That's my thinking, anyway - I'm early days, too.

even in the short run, it really does get easier to resist and life gets so much better so fast. You don't have to focus on the big milestones. There are victories daily!!!
