The neighbours who hated me

So i just got a ring on the doorbell and it was my neighbour She asked can i help her husband round the back

these ppl hated me for the things that i allowed to happen yet nearly 15 months later i was asked to help i jumped at it

it was lifting solid steel framework and i said its the least i can do i am in debt to you for a good few decades he chuckled (im serious) i had no problem helping him and would help him in a split second if asked again

im feeling like a bag of diffrent emotions because of this in a good way for me its me showing i can be a better human being and help out when asked espeially to ppl i owe my life to (they called the fire brigade that broke my front door to save my life and get me out of there)

feeling great bit nervous but got dinner on chicken kebabs & pumkin chorizo rice all homemade with peppers and red onions on the kebabs

my gf is here at ours tonight

this is definatly a moment

SoberWolf, that is a great story.

It shows that you are letting people see the differences in you.

And, dinner sounds yummy!

Love this post! It shows that for all we are embarrassed about, people do let it go and we do get second chances.

SW - So many messages about the value of your sobriety from those around you. I can tell from your posts that people really care about you, and did when you were using/drinking also, but were frustrated and worried. I sense that the folks in your life are relieved, overjoyed, and thus very supportive of your recovery. They are all so glad to have the real you back.

On another note - your menus always sound extraordinary - creative, delicious. I know that you've talked about where you're going with work. Have you considered cooking food? In the US, there is a growing sub-culture of "food carts" - vans that cook and serve food out of the van (with a serving/ordering window in the side of the panel truck) - like a mobile restaurant. They pull up outside work buildings at lunchtime or outside bars and clubs at night, and - if the food is great - are mobbed by hungry patrons for take out. They can serve just a few things, and have a revolving limited menu. And no expense for a storefront/restaurant.

Just a thought.

A little time and sobriety then the miracles start happening and they keep happening.

Wonderful post!
