I sat silently
 

Well tonight my husband and I went to our first marriage counseling session…
I sat there silently as my husband went on and on about what a great husband
father he is, and provider but what he neglected to mention were the years of alcohol,
the abuse, the lies, the deception, the chaos, the fighting
that both myself and his children endured. And I sat silently…
My sons heard their own father in a drunken rage tell his sons how he hated them
and they were losers…and I sat silently…
I listened as he told the counselor how he coached his children in soccer games…
He neglected to mention I did this for years coached and it wasn’t until my
son started playing football…thinking he would be the next Lawrence Taylor…and I sat silently…
I listened as he told the counselor about how he drank once in awhile but did not
Have a problem with it and doesn’t drink when he is not in our home, he forgot
To mention the beer in his fridge at his apartment…and I sat silently...
I listened as he went on and on about how he helped the boys with school as
He told the counselor what he did he was using my words as he was know where to be found…and I sat silently.
I sat silently as this man sat there…letting the counselor know how important he was at work and how respected he was…and I sat silently…What he failed to mention the countless times in a drunken rage how his boys were losers and would not amount to anything…end up in jail…:jail What he failed to mention the time he crashed his car into a house and was found face down in a lake oh yeah he ended up in :jail
I wonder how long do I sit silently?

Whatever happens don't bottle it up speak your mind in a cool calm manner

I think you print out what you just wrote and hand it, silently, to the counselor.
