Went to my doctor today to see what damage I'd done to my body. I was totally and completely honest with her and she was awesome - non judgmental, supportive, etc. She even told me that alcoholism is rampant in her family, that's why she doesn't drink. She decided to put off my lab work until December to give whatever I've done a chance to recoup so she's obviously not too worried. And she even gave me kudos and told me she thought it was awesome what I'd done so far, i.e. buying a treadmill (before I got sober), getting on vitamins, joining this website, and of course getting sober! It's now been a full week - feeling good - had a little bloat and gas after dinner but I guess that is to be expected after what I have put my innards through. Hopeful for good lab results in December; determined that I am going to do this one day at a time; and trying to keep in mind that each day I don't drink is a great day! Thanks everyone for the great posts and constant support! :ring |

You certainly have the right attitude Suzie ... and it terrific that you have such a supportive Dr :) |
I reckon the lab results will come back fine if you abstain :) Doctor would have taken further action if she was worried so that's awesome news, keep doing your thing and keep sober and your body will heal , you are doing great :) |
