Yay made it through the first sober weekend
Yay made it through the first sober weekend
in over 14 years! Amazingly enough yesterday (Saturday) was the first day I started feeling good and again today - (I think my Higher Power had a lot to do with that). Then tonight, for some reason, sitting with hubby and my dad (who we take care of) I got the "inner jitters" again - you know, that feeling like your tummy is shaking when you were a kid? But as soon as I got upstairs to my office (my "safe" place) they were gone. I had absolutely NO reason for feel jittery - weird how this disease works. Tomorrow I have an appointment with my doctor to be honest with her and make sure I haven't permanently damaged anything in my body - praying!!! I am not nervous about telling her the truth strangely enough, because I really have a good relationship with her and know that she will not be judgmental. Again, thank you for this site - coming here every morning and every night before bed strengthens my resolve.

Good morning Suzie.....you and I have something in common. First sober weekend for me too. First Monday morning for me in soooo long that I haven't had to sneak to my hiding places and collect all the empties and hide in my trunk. That was always so humiliating. I'm realistic about struggle ahead. Sounds like you are too. Im happy for us both. Happy Monday!
