New milestone achieved!

It's day 47. This is significant since it's the longest I've gone without drinking in 26 years (The other is the 18 years of my life prior to that). I did go 46 days without drinking several years ago during the Lenten season (40 days of lent and 6 sundays in between). I remember drinking on Easter Sunday to 'celebrate' my 'accomplishment.' I thought that I could become a moderate drinker, aka normie. How wrong I was.

Anyway, just posting this, cause celebrating every milestone helps me. Thank you to everyone on SR. This forum has helped me so much. Daily reading, posting, reading responses, etc. I don't think I could have come this far without it.

I will ask for 60 day chip from my CR group, but personally, my next milestone I have in mind (as well as set on my iPhone app) is 100 days. Only 53 days to go.

I'm feeling great and I think brain and memory is trying to come back a little. Someone told me that recovery comes in this order, body, brain, and spirit. I hope I'm entering the brain phase...

Hey Pakman- well done :=] It's really cool that you're acknowledging a 'weird' number- 47 days is great and a whole lot more significant than 50 days :=] Take care.

Good job pakman - we're proud of your accomplishment. :)

congrats on 47 SOBER days pacman!

I tried to moderate my drinking for over 40 years.

You are right - it never works for very long.

Each day is a new record now. You'll be at 100 days and beyond with your attitude.

Way to go!

Thanks everyone for the encouragement. TexasMichael, I like what you said, "Each day a new record now." I'll try to remember that each day.

Congrats. I had almost this exact same post a few days back. All the way down to my previous record (other than 2 pregnancies) being lent one year & getting blitzed on day 46. We really are all the same, aren't we?

Proud of you!! Keep on trucking.

Congratulations, Pakman!!! That's a huge milestone. You should be very proud.
Body, brain, and spirit...nice. I'm going to remember that.

Hi pakman, I'm 41 days behind you and looking forward to that body improvement stuff. Managed 90 days a few years ago. Then I listened to the voice in my head saying I had proven I could drink normally etc. etc. etc.. I'm very happy for you and am also finding this site so helpful. Im gonna have to show it to my wife soon, I think she suspects me of some sort of online romance as much as I've been on the iPad last few days!
