Hello
Welcome, LaurenS, to SR. You will find inspiration, support, encouragement and understanding here.
Congratulations on four sober days. Sobriety can be an emotional roller coaster in the early days and weeks, sometimes months, but things will eventually level out.
Glad you found SR.

Me too day 4. I woke up ready to kick butt. Keeping my mental head of steam up and embracing the sober life. Glad I finally admitted I needed to make the decision to stop drinking. Keep up the charge...they tell me it gets better over time.
Glad to meet you Lauren - I think it'll really help you to be with us.
I know what you mean - I went through a grieving process too. I'm not sure why, since in the end - drinking brought me nothing but misery. After I got over feeling sorry for myself, I came out of my fog and loved the new life I was building.

I have been there Lauren. You are going to be feeling down for a bit. When I stopped drinking, I had never experienced such anxiety and misery before. Eat as healthy as you can and your brain will start to even out your emotions in a short while.

Hello Lauren, If you are at all like I was, you are sort of grieving the loss of a friend. A very evil one. When I did rehab they had us right a goodbye letter to our DOC. Interesting exercise.
Stick with it. It gets easier.
