Work dinner.

Home from a dinner with co-workers. What a joy to come home stone cold sober! No counting other people's drinks to keep a normal pace, or worrying about what I said or driving in the rain safely.

I know- it doesn't seem like much. But who better to appreciate such an observation than my SR family?

It was a rainy day here pretty hard at some points to! I live in Hampton NH, Good job that's a tough thing to go out while others drink and watch them drink while your the odd man out. Keep it up that's a big test that you passed tonight should be proud of yourself!

Boy do your words bring back memories. Many's the time I came home from an after work function where alcohol was served, and worrying about what I said. Or if I acted the part of a total ass. Yep, sobriety is a great thing.

You left out one thing though, the joy of waking up the next morning with a clear head, and no hangover to deal with.

Just also did a similar thing, back in the hotel room drink free after my colleagues have all headed to the bar for a night cap. Mmm, bed is so much better!

You gave that sober muscle a great workout tonight, and your success is a great reinforcer. The next time will be more familiar and you will have added some tools and perspective to your resolve. It will be easier. Congratulations, VikingGF!

Fantastic! I'm looking forward to that feeling when I next go out on friday, only a girls night in with dvds but previously I would have necked 1-2 bottles of wine and probably made a tit of myself lol

Other people take this stuff for granted.
What's all the fuss about.
We don't.
We know what milestones and awakenings these are.
Massive.......
