london marathon 2015

Sorry to start another thread but after coming in from work I've just looked at the post and found my london marathon acceptance letter....wooohooo.

Its a dream of mine to run london so I am so excited about it.....the amazing amount of motivation to stay healthy and sober is a bonus.....hopefully might see
Mo Farah....a personal hero of mine.

100+ miles training per week, an alcohol addiction and a new born baby....what could possibly go wrong.

Wow, great news. I still have the marathon on my bucket list. I have run a bunch of 1/2 marathons. I'm getting older and definitely not easier. I am signed up to run the Shamrock Marathon in Virginia and them hope to get picked in the lottery for the Marine Corp Marathon in Washington,DC.
Really excited for you!!

Wow, congratulations!

I am always watching from 21 miles at the Wharf and always have a big bag of cola cubes for the runners if you need sugar by then!

Hopefully in 2015, god willing, I will not also have cans of cider with me to make spectating 'more fun' - how bad was that? Getting drunk watching people race for charity.

I wish you all the best in the winter training runs. Inspiring!

Soberleigh - ambitious yes but I generally train between 70-80 mpw even when drinking heavy so should be possible now sober. Its good to have a running plan now as i'd noticed the last few weeks since going sober again i've been having some real motivation issues, I seem to want to just sleep all the time.

That's awesome! Good for you! The last time I tried to quit drinking (2008), I fell off a chair and broke a rib while drunk...luckily the only witness was my husband. A week later, I ran a marathon and 2 weeks after that I ran a half. That seems like a lifetime ago because in the shape I am now, I'd be lucky to be able to WALK 26.2.

But this is not about me...it's about you...and you're going to do great!!! Go marathonman!
