I am new here
Hi Sheri, welcome. I assume you are here because you are addicted to alcohol or a drug. It is fine to now know what to say. Maybe first you want to have a look around and post on any topics that you relate to. In any case I think you will find this to be a really supportive community. I am still struggling to get and stay sober, but the support here is incredible and is pushing me closer and closer to the point I need to be at. I hope you will find the same.

Hi Sheri and welcome. My sister's name was Sheri (she spelled it with 2 Rs). I just joined yesterday myself and everyone is very nice and supportive. And you don't have to talk until you are ready.

OK. I don't want to say I don't have a problem, and I don't want to say that I do have a problem. However, there are very few pieces of Saturday night that I remember. I remember handcuffs and deputy sheriffs cussing me as I sat at my kitchen counter finishing off a 1/2 gallon of Jager. Apparently I tried to beat up my spouse. Not much memory of anything and I wonder if I blacked out and went bat ass crazy or something???
Blackouts are very scary; many of us have been there, Sheri, and know how confused and worried you are feeling.
Only you can decide if you have a problem with drinking but a blackout is a good reason to examine your relationship with alcohol.
SR is here for you.

Welcome Sheri
I don't know if you have a problem or not but it sure sounds like you were in the middle of a pretty big problem Saturday night.
Granted I'm not you, but I think looking at not drinking seems a pretty logical move?
In my experience that stuff only gets worse and worse if you don't quit the booze...

Addiction can blind us sometimes to what should be so obvious. I was once in your shoes. Get sober and you will see the world differently. The next horrible drinking event is only 1 drink away....
