I'm Back
I'm Back
I was here for a while four years ago. The inspiration I got from SR at that time allowed me to quit drinking for over a year. However, after that year, I started back. I dunno' why. The last 3 years I've been off and on. Mostly on. I think the longest “not drinking” time was about a month.
I had an incident about a week ago that scared me to the point of admitting that I have to do something about my drinking problem. I woke up in the middle of my living room floor and I couldn't get up! I was to drunk. I finally managed to get to bed.
Next morning in the bathroom I saw a cut on my forehead and the back of my head was extremely sore. When I went into the living room there was furniture out of place. I can only speculate about what happened but I do realize that this type of incident could have resulted in death!
Looking back on my year of sobriety I rediscovered SR. So I'm back. This time to stay. Not just for my on inspiration but also to inspire others.

I can relate. I once woke up with blood everywhere and a nasty scalp laceration that needed 30 staples to close. I had to take an ambulance to the ER. Then I started drinking right away again as soon as I got back home.
Welcome back. Sounds like a close call. And old high school friend of my cousin just died, speculated to be caused by the same situation, as he was known to be a long time, fall down alcoholic. How sad.
Glad for your second chance and rediscovery of SR

So glad that you're back! I think these posts are so helpful to newcomers or those who think that you can get away with going back to it. There's only one answer it just takes time to see and accept it.
