I apologised

Today I did something that has been bothering me.

I had a relapse in July when my parents were on holiday. My father cut his holiday short and came home.
Today I apologised to my dad.

He looked at me and said "forget about it. It's in the past. All you have to focus on is today, and prepare a little for tomorrow".

I had been feeling bad all morning. After I said it, I felt better. Maybe I had been worrying about it subconsciously.

I have been sober since July 12th and I am grateful.

I just wanted to get this off my chest. Thanks for reading.

That's good. Now you are free to leave it totally behind you.

Apologies can be very powerful! I so glad you were able to do that and get a bit of a reprieve. :)

How wonderful. It's amazing how a few words can mean so much to our wellbeing.
