I am in the early stages of my recovery and feel having a sponsor with at least 1 year of sobriety is something I should obtain ASAP

Alright, I looked there first but there didnt seem to be much going on there. I will see who responds over the next day or two and see if anyone fits the bill and is up to the job of wanting to work with me

Is there any reason why you can't find one at a normal face to face meeting tho?

Pickle, if you can't find an online sponsor here, check AA's forum; they offer (or did) temporary online sponsors. Google E-AA Forum for more information.

I live in a rural area and just getting to meetings in general is a major challenge for me. I have managed to get to meetings a couple days a week in the past but never found someone I felt comfortable reaching out to for sponsorship

I feel like talking over the internet may allow me to be a little more open about my situation and my use/ recovery and allow me to find someone who I feel comfortable working with
