Hello...it's been a while!
I am back and 7 days sober today. After many years of trying to quit drinking on my own, and not succeeding, I went to my first few AA meetings this week for the first time. I need help and I can't do it on my own. It has taken me years to get to this point however I am here. It was hard to do but I am feeling relief. I'm glad to be back here on SR and have enjoyed reading the posts. I'm looking forward to reading more and sharing more in the days (and nights) to come :0)

I tried it on my own back in April. Surprise of surprises, it didn't work!
This time around, I've been going to AA and I can't tell you the immeasurable difference it has made for me already.
That, and of course, I rely heavily on my friends and "family" here.

Hey Stomper, welcome back. I'm at the 7 day mark also and on my third and final attempt. I find that checking in here daily and reading and posting helps tremendously.
