Wow, Mike. That is absolutely terrible about your brother and your mom. I agree that drinking doesn't help the situation, but you're working on getting help, which sounds like the best thing for everyone. Take good care, and hang in there!

Well, people around us do get frustrated, desperate, hopeless, angry and whatnot, about our drinking-related behaviors and lies. You can turn this around completely and regain your mom's and others' trust if you stop drinking and pull yourself together. It all starts with putting down the drink, there is no other way, really.

What you can do - get rid of the alcohol, drink some water, go to bed, and start your new life tomorrow! And please don't take meds and drink!

Hi Mike,

I hope that you decide to stop drinking and we're here to offer you support.

It sounds like your relationship with your mother is toxic and I hope that you can distance yourself from her, at least for awhile.

I'm sorry your mom said that to you mje. Yes this disease sucks but we can make our family proud of us by staying sober and taking positive steps to be well and do better. Hugs.
