Day 25 - thoughts

I am feeling kinda down but I am waiting for the anti-depressants to kick in.
There are some funny side affects at the moment.
I feel like 'well done me' on the one hand, but on the other, I can see my nerves have been shot to bits over the last few months. Alcohol and a nervous breakdown seem to go hand in hand...
Wow - Alcohol really does screw you up.
Does it take months for everyone to recover physically and emotionally?

I'm on day 31, and I just started to notice a difference these last couple days. Also was waiting for the Anti-D Anti-A medications to kick in. It's different for everyone, but no matter WHAT - you know you will only be regressing if you drink again. There's only one way out and it's straight ahead - you're on the right path! Use that disgust with alcohol and what it's done to you as motivation to keep your sobriety Good job!!!!! Whohoo!

I think it takes quite a bit of time to really feel comfortable in your own skin again. After years of abuse it's not surprising that it takes a while to get out of your system and a while for the obsession to truly lift. Hang in there and I hope it gets better for you. It's better to be struggling sober than struggling drunk. I'm on day 16 so feeling in a very similar position.

Congratulations on your milestone lifereturning (you too mrrryh)

I drank for 20 years...smoked pot for the best part of 30...had a bad last detox...it took me 3 months or so to start to feel ok and normal.

I think thats a pretty good deal all things considered.

Don't be discouraged LR. Try and be patient
