Many people make the mistake of leaving action or making a plan 'until they need it'...by them it's usually too late, longpasttime.

If you start making sure you have a support system and some strategies in place now- even when you're sick and you know you won't drink for a few days - then it's easier to implement them down the road when you need them?

I know exactly what you mean by overconfidence, I did well, then my av went "you know you've got this, you're not really an alcoholic or you wouldn't be fine. Have a few cans, it's the weekend!". Then you are wrecked for the next several days. Literally what I just did.
