Patience and Understanding I know its such a cliche but my kids are The Best. I think back at all the times I was having a bad day I would yell and say "please just leave me alone". Yet they still love me and look to me. at times when I close my eyes at night I can still see their little faces looking at me wondering whats wrong with mommy. Finally my psychologist told me to tell them why I was being the way I was. Believe me when i started telling them why i was acting the way i was they were more understanding and I was more patient towards them. It felt good to say "im sorry" to them. |
Sobriety allows us to be the people we choose to be, not the person alcohol wants us to be, whether that's a mom, a friend, we get to call the shots!! Nice post!! :) |
Guilt is a killer to the soul but it has to be done in order to face the truth. Im still learning that. |
my neice only has to look at me and i melt |
Guilt wants us to go back to our old ways, it's nothing but the past wanting to be the present!! It's downfall though is the fact that it's not the future, that's something we get to decide!! We hold the keys, and get to write the next chapter to our lives!! :) |
They are little people so they can understand. Plus, kids are super intuitive. Better relationship with my child is one of the best things about being sober. Better quality time definitely. |
Smart move on explaining to them, they sound great |
