I didn't get day labor today like I wanted and I have exactly $20 which I shouldn't spend, but am going to spend on myself. I am a bibliophile, I read a ton every week.
So I am going to reward myself for being sober, by buying a book today. Something I haven't done in a long time, grab some tea and sit on the balcony and read. Sadly, I dropped my kindle, or I would just buy a book on there.
Anyways, any good reading suggestions. I am into philosophy and all things technical, not really a fiction reader, but with the right book I can and will read on.
Hope everyone is having a good day. I am going to make today about my love and passion for reading, in a way this is my form of meditation and enjoyment. Good day!

Let Your Life Speaks reviews on Amazon are great and I love the synopsis of the book. Living a nobler life is something I've been wanting to do for some time. Thanks for the suggestion.
My mouth is beginning to salivate with all these suggestions. I am going to have a bevy of books on my to read list by the end of this thread. You guys and gals rock, I love this site. Reading all the synopsis's and reviews and now I feel like a kid in a candy shop, I can't decide what to buy.
Without question Heather King 's "Parched". If you can't find it, here are a few more. These are the very best books on personal recovery that I've read (I too am a voracious reader...I'm in the new Amazon club, which is like Netflix for books...incredible!).
2. Drinking: A Love Story by Caroline Knapp
3. Tweak by Nix Sheff
3. Dry by Augusten Burroughs
4. Requiem for a Dream by Hubert Selby Jr.
If you want something that isn't strictly recovery, I couldn't put down, Jeannette Walls "The Glass Castle"...it was terrific. Or, in honour of banned books week this week, read Margaret Atwood's "The Handmaid's Tale".
I just finished Atwood's brilliant new trilogy, which begins with Oryx and Crake...Dystopian fiction (which I love) that left me breathless. Happy reading!
