Vitamin suggestion

I have been taking Vit B Complex containing all the Bs - B1, B2, B3, B6, B12. It really upsets my stomach though...even when I take it with food.

Any suggestions?

Stop taking it?

I don't take B Complex. I do take a multi. I find taking it with food works for nausea.

Are you taking it at the recommendation of a doctor?

No...just because I have read and heard that alcohol depletes vitamins in your body, especially Vit B. Trying to restore my healthy levels.

Stop taking it and do some research about the food sources that you could eat instead. Sometimes supplements are too strong.

A varied diet will work fine for you, I think. I never liked how B Complex made me feel. Most people in developed countries get plenty of B Vits.

Here's a short article about B Vit in foods.

Foods Containing Vitamin B | eHow

Do some research. Food is the best medicine.

I read that alcohol depletes it...

Well I also read that putting a plug in a bath tub keeps the water from draining out.

Once you put the plug back the tub is not instantly filled. Take your time. Get a recommendation from a Dr.
Eat right, a multivitamin is more than enough if you are not poisoning your body. Or maybe a B vitamin. Don't over do it. It can't be fixed over night.

Anna is correct i take a wide variety of vitimins & minerals

I only started taking vitimins after my Doctor first told me it was safe to do so

as for upset stomach that could be anything so a doctors visit is best decision

do not dr google what is good for someone could be bad for someone else

Doctor is best option

good luck

I find my stomach gets upset from synthetic vitamins. Try researching and ordering food based vitamins that are not synthetic (still in pill form, but from food based sources), that should help.

You probably already have enough B vitamins if it's upsetting your stomach. The B Stress Complex upset my stomach as well. You can try taking it at night, or just take a multi-vitamin. A lot of people take B Complex vitamins to avoid the side effects of hangovers so I've heard.

I take a ******** of vitamins, but do research on them as too much of some can be bad for you such as iron. Truth is most of the vitamins I take I end up pissing out but they are water soluble anyway so wont do damage. I am concerned about my red blood cell count so that is why I bought iron supplement. I now just eat a little red meat a day.

I think only your Dr can really tell you what vitamins you need, if any, for your particular case.

Like others here I took a multi - seemed to help me and I never felt nauseous when I took them with food

There's no point taking supplements if the body doesn't need them, and the only way to work out if it needs them is a blood test from a Dr.

Excessive supplements when not needed can be detrimental to health, they can be counter productive!!

Nutritional yeast flakes are an amazing source of vitamin B and very tasty. Lots of recipes on the net...I like to sprinkle it over mashed potatoes.

Scroll down to the bottom to see the vitamin B info.
