Couldnt quit for my interview

I told myself I would quit these pills for my interview and the day came and went and still I can't quit. I am telling myself it because of me being sick and I need them right now and don't want to be in withdrawal. I fear this is another excuse too. I have found a sponsor on here and it's helping a bit.
I need the Strength to quit for good. Please if any one has any advice. I don't want to waste anymore of my life taking these. I feel like a failure because I can't quit it's feeling impossible.

Is Treatment/Medical detox an option?

youngconfused 09-20-2014 06:26 AM

Um I'm finishing up my last 2 classes for school I guess an outpatient recovery program would be an option. I am not sure what medical detox is....

For alcohol it's generally 3 days inpatient then outpatient (I've never been in for opiates). You might tell your doc- they could set up an assisted taper plan or recommend treatment.

Talking to your dr is a good idea.

And, have faith that you can do this.

I thinka lot of us have the fear that we can't function without our drug of choice.
We absolutely can, but it takes a little work patience and commitment.

There really is no good time to quit...but sooner is definitely preferable to later, youngconfused :)

I second my counterparts, see your doc, get a treatment, throw as much effort at sobriety as you did for getting your drug of choice and you are set for success!

Rooting for you!
