not new

I have been in aa since early 80's. Have yet to string 2 years together. Finally actually worked 1st 3 steps, have sponsor, and am meeting a burning desire head on for once. Want to steal someone's pain meds and I'm using every tool at my disposal NOT to. Called sponsor, read big book, tried to accept presence of higher power but am having trouble feeling the connection. This is probably the problem. I made a personal commitment to my higher power that I'd pray I won't do it. I'm working backwards. My higher power doesn't work that way. I must use the tools available. Will be going to mtg. Thanks for listening.

good for you, coming on here and sharing. Hell, sometimes we all feel like "eff it!!"

Having those thoughts and impulses is 'normal' for us.

It's what we do with them that makes the difference.

Coming out with it, sharing it, getting it out and moving on is the way to deal with it healthily.

Good job.
