Thinking about quitting. Dunno. Every single thing in my life is working great but I probably should stop drinking a half-rack a day. can this last? i don't think it does. I hate the half-rack limit most days to be honest.

I had to look up what a half rack was...12 cans a night is not a small amount.

I think you're wise to be thinking about your drinking. Alcoholism is progressive...

Things were working great for me too...until they weren't, and then I couldn't get things back under control no matter how I tried.

You'll find a lot of support here tho

Welcome to the Forum!!

For me things got steadily worse, what I started drinking, and what I ended up drinking by the end were light years apart, things got progressively worse as time went on!!

You can turn this around and not go further down that path!!

It wasn't until after I quit that I realized quite a few things I thought were working great were actually just staying afloat.

A 12 pack a day is a lot. Even if everything in your life is going great, think about what it is doing to your health. And the fact that you hate the 12 pack limit....what happens when you progress and it becomes more?

Welcome to the group!

Is that 12 cans everyday Monday - Sunday, or possible 12 Monday thru Friday, extra friday night because you dont have to work Saturday, and then a few more extra Saturday and Sunday? You don't state your age, but do the math, and see how many cans of beer you will drink in the next 10 years. In any case, I assure you the amount will grow. Physical harm to your health is certain. Good luck and welcome.

well 39, at that rate you will spend apporx 45,000 dollars on beer alone in the next ten years. That is assuming you stick to only a half rack daily.
I remember when I would drink only a 12 pack. Nothing. Then it became a case on the weekends/days off. Then it was augmented by stuff that came in a bottle that would burn if you put a match to it.

And on and on...

If you don't stop now that could be you. It doesn't get better, it gets worse if you continue drinking.
