Team effort

Last night was horrible for me and my wife. We both had been binge drinking heavily for a week. We decided to quit because our bodies and being shut down due to the alcohol. She decided to go into inpatient detox and I went cold turkey. So, here I am today with less symptoms than I had. Shakiness, sweating, nausea, fear, anxiety and high heart rate. I've been drinking gatorade to help replenish my liquids as well as vitamin water for the B vitatims. I would recomend that can go to detox do it. I've done it twice now in a hosptal setting and takes between 3-5 days for symptoms to be relieved. Like most bloggers state, detoxing is easy its staying sober that is the hardest. Thanks for Listening.

Hello and welcome.
Yes, detoxing is hard . And dangerous. Just remember you never have to go through it again of you don't take that first drink.
Best to you and your wife.

I would not say that detoxing is easy. It can also be unpredictable and very dangerous.

However, staying sober after detoxing is when the real work begins.

I hope you both get to feeling better and then can find some way to keep your sobriety. I hope you feel better soon!

Hang in there. Both of you on the same path to sobriety will help. You can do it. Detoxing got so scary for me. I literally thought i would die. Never going back. You dont have to either. Stay strong. Stay on sr. That was my saving grace during the withdrawals. Were here with you.
