Saturday Morning - HELLO!
Saturday Morning - HELLO!
Last weekend sucked. I was fighting alcohol and knowing it was a losing battle. Just one week later, I am up after sleeping in (would have felt guilty about that), drinking coffee (would have made me queasy) and getting ready for my workout (if I did it, would have been half-assed).
I'm also going to run or swim today and enjoy my family.
My husband is home and I need to talk to him about not having alcohol in the house for a while and ask him to tone it down (he's not bad, but he enjoys having beers on the weekend).
It's nice to have ME back.
Hope you all are doing well.

Hi Grat,
You sound a lot like the "old" me... too hungover on Saturday to get anything accomplished!! It does feel great to wake up and be able to really function!! I hear you about husbands having alcohol around...mine is still in bed, hungover! I just have to separate myself from him when he's drinking until I get really confident, but not complacent, in my sobriety!! Have a great weekend!!

No alcohol in my house, spouse supports me 200%, going to an AA meeting, will pray for a day of sobriety. Looks like today will be a good day.
Prayers for your sobriety and do what you need to so that it is insured

Happy you are feeling well! The binds of alcohol are so restrictive...
Good luck in approaching your husband. It was absolutely crucial for me to stay away from alcohol and drinking when I first stopped. As I got better I regained strength. Last night I attended a party at a bar and was not phased at all. I had a great time and was so happy to be able to drive home safely late at night. I am so much happier not drinking as I just don't handle it well at all. I always always always spiral downward into massive abuse in a short time. It's just not worth it and my recognizing that was key.
Have an amazing weekend!! =D

Hubby was great - he knew I was struggling with it. He was smart not to try to talk me out of it, but I think he was waiting for me to tell him I didn't want it in my life any more. He seems happy to avoid it and keep alcohol away. For him, it's never been a true problem, yet he doesn't like to give up his once in a while habit... still he will support me now. We worked out today and are getting up early tomorrow to work out.
Thanks everyone!!
