Back again, trying to be positive
Back again, trying to be positive
I was here in May. 33 days sober had been my longest stretch since I could remember. I failed, after I felt too good, and too clear, and that I could manage.
I'm now on day 7 sober. Another run.
My job, a good one, is at risk.
My kids are also at risk as I continue to fight in a long and bitter custody and access dispute.
My health, specifically risk of depression, is also concerning.
So I am trying again.
I have many good things, and I feel like failure that here is something that controls me. I have always had the illusion I controlled my destiny.
So I'm back to try again.
Thank you for listening.

Welcome back razor. I tried and failed many times too, but that' doesn't mean that this time cannot be THE time that you get it right for good. What were you doing during your first 33 days that worked? Can you build on that or add to it?
Controlling your destiny is not a complete illusion. There are definitely some things in life that you cannot control, but the decision to drink or not is one you CAN control. Most of us can't control what happens once we start, but we CAN decided to not pick up the first drink, and you have that choice as well. Hope we can be of help in finding something that works for you.

Hi razor, welcome back.
Booze isn't fussy who it affects, the strong, the weak. I had to go one step at a time, one day at a time then it got to weeks then months. The further away from day one the easier the cravings become.
Congratulations on day 7 .

Thank you all for the kind words. I already feel better, and I know from before I still have more healthy improvement to look forward to. :-) Strength to all of you as well.
This forum is important to me because you all inspire me...because you know the deal, and work at it every day too. :-)
I have many good things in life that I want to really enjoy once again!
